DESCRIPTION:The International Museum of Surgical Science (IMSS) will be featuring Dr. Gamble-George in a “new\,” permanent exhibit called “Rx For Success” along with other STEM professionals in Chicago\, Illinois\, USA. This new exhibit is made possible in part by a #GenderEquityGrant from the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC)\, a professional membership organization with a vision of increased understanding of—and engagement with—science and technology among all people and a mission to champion and support science and technology centers and museums\, and the IF/THEN® Initiative\, a national effort sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies® to inspire young girls to pursue STEM careers while creating a culture shift in how the world perceives women in STEM. SUMMARY:Life-Size 3D Statue Exhibit of Women in STEM at Smithsonian in Washington\, D.C.
DESCRIPTION:A life-size 3D printed statue of Dr. Gamble-George is being featured in the #IfThenSheCan exhibit at the Smithsonian Castle from March 5\, 2022 – March 27\, 2022. The #IfThenSheCan exhibit will showcase 120 women professionals in STEM (who are AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors) that will be immortalized as statues to combat stereotypes and gender bias by highlighting women as science experts. All 120 statues will be placed in the Arts + Industries Building\, the Smithsonian Castle\, the adjacent Enid A. Haupt Garden\, the National Air and Space Museum and the National Natural History Museum through March 27th. IF/THEN was founded on the belief that “IF we support a woman in STEM\, THEN she can change the world.” It is a transformational initiative created and funded by Dallas-based Lyda Hill Philanthropies. Dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM careers and inspiring the next generation of women innovators and pioneers\, IF/THEN aims to activate a culture shift among young girls by providing them with women STEM role models.

SUMMARY:#STEM Career Expo for Young Women and Nonbinary Students
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Gamble-George has been invited to speak at Inspiration & Exploration: STEM Career Expo that will be held on March 12\, 2022\, at 3 PM ET. She will discuss how she persisted through challenges and what she does on a day-to-day basis as a scientist. She will also share advice\, encouragement and ideas for how to get on — and stay on — the STEM pathway. The event is designed for young women and non-binary students in high school\, but all teens interested in STEM inclusivity are welcome. The virtual online event is a collaboration between The Tech Interactive and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. The Tech Interactive is a family-friendly science and technology center in the heart of downtown San Jose\, California\, and a world leader in the creation of immersive STEAM education resources to develop the next generation of problem-solvers locally\, nationally and globally. Founded in 2004 by Academy Award Winning Actor Geena Davis\, the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is the only global research-based organization working collaboratively within the entertainment industry to create gender balance\, foster inclusion and reduce negative stereotyping in family entertainment media.
