DESCRIPTION:The International Museum of Surgical Science (IMSS) will be featuring Dr. Gamble-George in a “new\,” permanent exhibit called “Rx For Success” along with other STEM professionals in Chicago\, Illinois\, USA. This new exhibit is made possible in part by a #GenderEquityGrant from the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC)\, a professional membership organization with a vision of increased understanding of—and engagement with—science and technology among all people and a mission to champion and support science and technology centers and museums\, and the IF/THEN® Initiative\, a national effort sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies® to inspire young girls to pursue STEM careers while creating a culture shift in how the world perceives women in STEM. The museum app for iPhone and Android features a self-guided tour that expands on Dr. Gamble-George’s IF/THEN® panel at the exhibit with videos about her career and passions. SUMMARY:Life-Size 3D Statue Exhibit Preview at Dallas Love Field Airport
DESCRIPTION:A life-size 3D printed statue of Dr. Gamble-George will be featured as part of the #IfThenSheCan exhibit preview in Dallas Love Field (DAL) airport from December 10\, 2020 – May 9\, 2021. The exhibit preview will feature 15 AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors. The full #IfThenSheCan exhibit will showcase 122 women professionals in STEM (who are AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors) that will be immortalized as statues to combat stereotypes and gender bias by highlighting women as science experts. IF/THEN was founded on the belief that “IF we support a woman in STEM\, THEN she can change the world.” It is a transformational initiative created and funded by Dallas-based Lyda Hill Philanthropies. Dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM careers and inspiring the next generation of women innovators and pioneers\, IF/THEN aims to activate a culture shift among young girls by providing them with women STEM role models.

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Gamble-George is invited as a facilitator for the “Enhancing Neuroscientific Discovery Through Diverse Communities 2021” virtual event\, which was developed by the Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP). As a part of a multifaceted approach to increase connectivity\, the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will host this virtual conference for NSP Scholars\, NSP Alumni\, and members of other NSP partner programs including BRAINS\, D-SPAN\, MINDS\, and SPINES. Dr. Gamble-George will co-lead a small group discussion around “Creating Community\,” which will focus on how to create and contribute to virtual communities\, create communities across spaces\, broaden one’s space\, and affinity groups at one’s institution.
