March 5, 2022 @ 8:30 AM - March 27, 2022 @ 5:30 PM UTC+0

Free

A life-size 3D printed statue of Dr. Gamble-George is being featured in the #IfThenSheCan exhibit at the Smithsonian Castle from March 5, 2022 – March 27, 2022. The #IfThenSheCan exhibit will showcase 120 women professionals in STEM (who are AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors) that will be immortalized as statues to combat stereotypes and gender bias by highlighting women as science experts. All 120 statues will be placed in the Arts + Industries Building, the Smithsonian Castle, the adjacent Enid A. Haupt Garden, the National Air and Space Museum and the National Natural History Museum through March 27th. IF/THEN was founded on the belief that “IF we support a woman in STEM, THEN she can change the world.” It is a transformational initiative created and funded by Dallas-based Lyda Hill Philanthropies. Dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM careers and inspiring the next generation of women innovators and pioneers, IF/THEN aims to activate a culture shift among young girls by providing them with women STEM role models.
