Dr. Gamble-George has been featured on the 1 Million Women in STEM (1MWIS) website as part of a global initiative to provide visible female role models in STEM to the next generation of girls and share their stories. The lack of visible, female role models is one of the key factors influencing girls’ choice to pursue or stay in STEM education and careers. By celebrating the experiences of women in STEM on the 1 Million Women in STEM (1MWIS) website, this worldwide initiative seeks to increase accessibility, celebrate diversity, and show our girls that their aspirations are achievable and that their dreams are attainable. Dr. Gamble-George’s profile on this website will as well serve as a tool for connecting with other members of the 1 Million Women in STEM (1MWIS) community, whether an individual is seeking to invite a speaker or ask for academic and career advice.
