Dr. Gamble-George was interviewed by Dr. Geoff Hunt, who is the Public Outreach Program Officer at the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), about her journey to become a scientist and how she is inspiring future generations of women in STEM. With over 30,000 members, including researchers, educators and health professionals, ASM is one of the largest life science societies in the world. It aims to advance the complete spectrum of microbiology, help members advance their careers, promote Inclusive Diversity with Equity, Access and Accountability (IDEAA) in the microbial sciences, and engage with policymakers and empower its members to advocate for evidence-based policy and the highest standards in scientific practice.

I love to empower people to become thought leaders and STEAM/STEMM innovators. I served as an expert science advisor for scientists that study chronic heart and lung diseases, HIV, and mental health. I also co-founded a biotech IoT application and device development company. As a scientist, I conduct research related to brain diseases and disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, anxiety and stress-related disorders, and substance use disorders.
